This is a one-day class focusing on creating beautiful enamels on copper and silver. It is open for beginners.Create a simple textured pendant or earrings in silver, and apply transparent glass enamels to your piece. Being able to fire the enamels in a kiln allows you to have more artistic freedom with colours and shapes of your piece.
Beginners to silverwork can use pre-formed shapes, so they can focus on creating an excellent result. They will be shown how to apply textures and small alterations to the pieces using either hammers or roll-printed textures before prepping the metal for the glass enamel.
Those with some metalwork experience can take on a more advanced textured piece.
Kids aged 12 (or so) are welcome to attend the class, but any person under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an enrolled parent or caregiver.
Workshop fee $248, early bird $225 till 10 August.
