HISTORY
In 2009, Tony Heinz of Hot Springs, Arkansas created a variant of the ELO handicapping system used in world wide chess and modified it for billiards. Today, this handicapping system is known as the CueSpeed Billiard Rating System. Shortly after creating the new handicapping system, Heinz founded the North American Poolshooters Association (NAPA). The very first NAPA session was established on January 10, 2010 in four venues with 73 players in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
To date, NAPA has been played in over 4,000 venues throughout the United States and Canada. Over 2 million player matches have been clocked by CueSpeed and still growing.
NO ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP
NAPA does not charge an annual membership to NAPA players. Once a player plays their first NAPA sanctioned match in their local community they immediately obtain a lifetime player profile in the NAPA national player database and on the NAPA website.
CASH AND TROPHIES
Rewarding our players is a key focus in NAPA. NAPA provides a unique cash payout program and pays out cash prizes to its players at the end of every session. Cash prizes are determined by the number of players in the local area and the size of the local division.
PLAYER STATS AND DATA
NAPA maintains detailed stats on every game played for the lifetime of the player. Every NAPA player has a profile page on the NAPA web site and can view their stats online at anytime. Player stats are updated every 24 hours. Some examples of stats that are stored are overall match record, win percentage, success rate against women, success rate against men, average points per match, break and runs, shutouts, and much more!
LEAGUE TYPES
NAPA offers several different league formats for the players to choose from:
Singles
3-player Teams
4-player Teams
5-player Teams

Scotch Triples
In all of these formats players participate with other players and battle for first place in their local divisions.

NAPA POOLSHOOTERS TOUR
NAPA holds tour stops across North America between January and September with an annual singles championship for all qualified NAPA players in the month of October. The NAPA International Championships define the best NAPA players throughout North America.
TOUR STOPS OVERVIEW
The Poolshooters Tour is a set of NAPA sanctioned tour stops containing sanctioned tournaments in multiple game formats held throughout the United States and Canada and is currently the largest and most active billiard tour in North America. Tour stop tournaments consist of Open 8-ball, Open 9-ball, and Open 10-ball.
Each tournament in a tour stop is a qualifier for the annual NAPA Super Shooters Championship
ELIGIBILITY
1 Any NAPA player who has a NAPA NRP of five (5) or more in the 365 days prior to the start of an event is automatically eligible to play.
2 "Open" tournaments are open to all genders.
3 A participant's place of residence does not matter and has no effect on their ability to participate at any of the tour stops throughout North America. For example: A participant living in Virginia is allowed to participate in the Florida State Championships and vice versa.
4 Participants who are already qualified for the annual NAPA Super Shooters Championship are still allowed to participate in any tour stop of their liking after qualifying. Being already qualified does not prevent a participant's entry into a tournament or event.
5 Any NAPA player who is banned or suspended from regular NAPA local league or NAPA tour events is prohibited from participating in any tournament of any tour event.
6 Proof of Identification is required at check-in for all participants. Driver's license, state issued ID or passport.
