Spring Creek Litter Clean-up and Litter Boom Install

WATERWAYS will be installing a Litter Boom on the Spring Creek, which flows out of East Ridge into the West Chickamauga Creek. This will be the third boom Waterways has installed on creeks in Chattanooga.
We are asking for volunteers to help on April 20th, beginning at 1:00. We will be removing a small log jam which backs up a good amount of floating debris. We will be sorting for recycling and proper disposal. Some will be working in waders while most will be needed on-shore. Helpers should be prepared to get dirty and wet.
After clearing out the jam and trash, we will be installing a Litter Boom to catch future trash coming down the creek. Contracts will be let for periodic clean outs of the boom, keeping the downstream waters much cleaner.
We would be delighted to have any and all volunteers to join in on the effort! Prepare to get dirty and have a good time! Gloves and necessary tools will be provided, however, please bring water, snacks, waders or rain boots.
