Grow your child's inner gardener with our engaging after-school program that offers an introduction to the world of gardening! In this hands-on experience, children will learn how to plant, grow, and harvest their own delicious fruits, vegetables, and herbs... and discover the joy of sharing their bounty with family and friends.
Build connections and essential skills
Designed for children aged 6 to 12, our weekly sessions align perfectly with the Wednesday garden market, making it easy for busy families to participate. The program is open to everyone, no garden membership required! Plus, caregivers to stay and join in on the fun, fostering connections and shared experiences.
What to expect
Each session is packed with exciting activities that spark curiosity and creativity. Across the year, children will:
- Prepare soil and plant seeds
- Nurture their plants and watch them grow
- Harvest fresh produce and learn about its journey from garden to table
- Visit the chooks and feed the worm farm
- Engage in composting and help build habitats for local wildlife
- Explore garden ecology and understand the environment
