Join us for Spring Break at the MET, where kids and families can explore the world of art through free self-guided crafts in our Education Room! From March 10-14 (Monday-Friday), 10 AM - 5 PM, we’ll feature a new artist each day, celebrating their unique style and impact on the art world. Daily Artists & Projects:
🎨 Monday - Jean-Michel Basquiat: Create your own "Crowned Creature" by drawing a bold, colorful animal or imaginary being and giving it a crown, just like Basquiat’s iconic motifs!
🖌️ Tuesday - Mary Cassatt: Step into "Little Girl in a Blue Armchair" by drawing yourself in the cozy scene from Cassatt’s famous painting.
🦉 Wednesday - Norval Morrisseau: Make an animal collage inspired by Morrisseau’s vibrant Woodland Art style—plus, learn about one of the biggest art fraud scandals in history!
🌺 Thursday - Frida Kahlo: Roll the dice in "Roll-a-Frida" to design your own portrait of Kahlo, incorporating elements from Mexican Folk Art.
🧵 Friday - Faith Ringgold: Color a story quilt, inspired by Ringgold’s powerful narrative art, and then crumple it up to make it soft like a real quilt!
Photos will be taken at this event for promotional materials.
