Beginners and improvers
We will focus on vibrant colours, blooming flowers, fresh greenery, and the renewal of nature.
Materials Required:
* Canvas (preferably pre-stretched and primed)
* Oil paints (primary colours, white, black, and spring-inspired colours like pastel pinks, greens, yellows, blues)
* Brushes (different sizes, including large flat brushes and smaller detail brushes)
* Palette and palette knife
* Turpentine (for cleaning brushes)
* Linseed oil or other mediums (for consistency)
* Rags or old towels
Easels, guidance sheets, stencils, tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
Introducing the concept of spring through art: renewal, nature, and colour, we will look at artists such as Claude Monet (flower gardens, bright pastel palettes), Gustav Klimt (decorative and floral motifs), and Georgia O’Keeffe (close-ups of spring flowers). We will discuss their use of colour, texture, and composition, and create our own inspired version.
It will be a great session introducing you into oil painting with a view to continue honing your skills.
