The Big Event is KU's single largest day of service. Volunteers serve Lawrence residents by completing projects in their neighborhoods. It is an opportunity for us to say thank you to the community that surrounds us year-round.
🏠 Job Sites
The Big Event is non-need based and accept job sites from all across the Lawrence Community including homes, agencies, businesses, parks, and other sites within the city limits. Our volunteers can do any jobs that do not involve power tools and are safe to be completed. Jobs typically include gardening, yard work, cleaning out garages, painting, etc. Service will be held from 10 am-2 pm.
🤝 Volunteers
KU students, faculty, and staff can volunteer at Lawrence job sites ranging from residential homes, community centers, and local organizations. Volunteers receive free breakfast and a free T-Shirt upon check-in (while supplies last) plus 4 service hours. Participants can sign-up individually or with a group!
