WELCOME to Edge4Vets/One Year Away in Tucson!
The program is offered by Desert Thunder Squadron as part of its "One Year Away" project to support airmen from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base as they prepare to retire and enter the civilian workforce.
The program is offered in collaboration with Tucson business, government and military partners and is open to all airmen at DMAFB who want this invaluable support.
Join us for our Spring, 2026 Workshop on Tuesday, May 19 from 9:30am to 4pm, with complimentary lunch, hosted by Pima Community College - Aviation Center at 7211 S Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85756.
The FREE in-person workshop will help you translate your military strengths into "tools" for civilian success. Then we connect you to decision-makers at partner companies to explore opportunities for good jobs that can lead to great careers, whether you wish to work in Tucson or any community in the country.
As a follow up to the workshop, DTS provides an opportunity to gain a one-to-one mentor, called a "DTS Wingman," to support you in building momentum toward the career path you develop in the workshop.

THREE WAYS Edge4Vets provides you with valuable support:
1. At the workshop we'll introduce you to business leaders and HR reps (decision makers and executives from our partner companies) who will work with you in small-groups to identify your strengths from the military, including Values and Skills, and help you frame out a career path. We'll teach you how to translate your military strengths as business mentors get you started on creating a personal PLAN4SUCCESS for an "edge" in the jobs marketplace. You'll also get a chance to learn about the DTS Wingman mentoring program.
2. Following the workshop we'll give you access to our Edge4Vets online course for those who wish to take their strengths-translation preparation from the workshop to the next level. Through a series of short videos and exercises, the online course guides you at your own pace to refine your PLAN and put it into final form before you submit it to earn your Edge4Vets Certificate.
3. Also, we'll give workshop participants a list of the HR reps from our partner companies. You'll be able to contact them for help to MATCH your skills and interests from your personal PLAN to job opportunities at their companies - and line up interviews. Or you can use their guidance to chart a path for employment in whatever city you choose.
We'll also work with you to solidify contact with a Wingman mentor for one-to-one follow up support.
Our goal is to put you on a pathway to success in civilian life!
Dress is business casual. Lunch will be free, courtesy of our host.
