About this Event
Come lend a hand at our Spring Mulching Event!
RUFF and the City of Roseville Open Space Division are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a community mulching event on April 18, 2026. This event helps us care for native trees planted by volunteers in 2022 and 2023—and we’d love for you to be part of it!
Note: All volunteers are required to fill out waiver forms for each event. Below is the link to fill out an online version. (We do have hard copies on site but prefer the online version.)
Upcoming Date & Location
- Saturday, April 18, 2026
This event runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Dugan Park (1432 Diamond Woods Circle, Roseville). We’ll also host additional mulching events this summer — visit our website for updates: RUFF Website
What to Expect
- Family-friendly activities
- A short demonstration and instructions before we begin
- Staff available to answer questions
- Mulching isn’t rocket science, but there is a right way to do it—and we’ll show you how!
Volunteer Details
Individuals and groups are welcome! If your group has more than 10 volunteers, please email us at [email protected].
Events start promptly at 9:00 AM, so please arrive a little early for registration.
What to Bring & What We Provide
RUFF will supply tools, gloves, and masks for all volunteers. Please wear appropriate clothing—the area may be wet and muddy from spring rains.
We’ll have light refreshments and a water cooler available. We recommend bringing your own water bottle, as the water station may be a short walk from your work area.
For safety, we strongly recommend wearing a mask while working with mulch to avoid inhaling airborne spores or dust particles.
Weather Policy
If an event needs to be canceled due to weather, RUFF will notify volunteers by the Friday before the event. Light rain usually won’t stop us, but the City of Roseville will make decisions based on safety.
Mulch is Magic! Mulch benefits your plants by smothering weeds, inviting helpful earthworms to move in, regulating the temperature of the soil, retaining moisture, providing nutrients and preventing erosion.
