Come join us at LYDIA ON H for a night of incredible talent and creativity from the city's rising stars! This week along side ya girl Summer Dennis, we feature Tommi Tsunami @tommitsunami.wav, Sadia @sadiathestar and Shy Rasheen @shy_rasheen!
Tommi Tsunami is a dynamic voice in the DMV rap scene, blending raw emotion with undeniable energy. Known for her sharp lyricism and magnetic stage presence, she crafts music that resonates with both vulnerability and confidence. Whether she's delivering hard-hitting verses or tapping into deeper emotions, Tommi's artistry is authentic and unapologetic. Her sound leaves a lasting impact, drawing listeners in with its intensity and honesty.
Sadia is a singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Prince George's County Maryland. Her music has been described as potent, with strong vocals, profound lyrics and emotive guitar playing. In addition to writing and performing, Sadia has directed a Capella groups, written original music and scores for films and currently serves as the director of the John's Hopkins Gospel Choir.
ShyRasheen is Prince George's County's sensational R&B artist with a Funk Soul twist, drawing inspiration from the pulsating beats of go-go and soulful sound of the church, he has crafted a unique sound that seamlessly blends smooth R&B melodies with deep 808 bass drops. Prepare to be transported to a world where soulful vocals meet irrespirable grooves, leaving you no choice but to hit the dance floor or turn your car radio up!
Summer Dennis has quickly made a name for herself as an artist to watch. Recently, she opened for Grammy-nominated R&B duo DVSN at the Howard Theatre, adding to her growing list of performances alongside artists such as Fergie, The Black Eyed Peas, Latto, Raheem DeVaughn,Bubba Sparxx, and more. Known for her versatility, Summer’s music spans multiple genres, drawing in a diverse and devoted fan base.
Lydia on H, founded by Malawian chef and mixologist Victor Chizinga, is a culinary and cultural destination located in the heart of H Street NE. The two-level venue celebrates heritage, community, and artistry. Raine, the second-floor lounge, is home to live events and showcases of local talent. The venue also features a members-only speakeasy serving exclusively Black-owned spirits.
The menu at Lydia on H features Chizinga’s Malawian heritage and Caribbean influences, complemented by rum punch-inspired cocktails.
