About this Event
Mitchell & Son Wine Merchants, established in 1805, is Ireland's oldest family-owned wine and spirits merchant, now in its seventh generation. The company is renowned for its Spot Whiskeys, a line of single pot still Irish whiskeys.
Robert Mitchell, representing the seventh generation, serves as Director. He will share the fascinating history of Spot Whiskey as we taste the lineup below - this is not to be missed!
The Spot Whiskeys
Mitchell & Son traditionally marked their whiskeys with a daub or ‘spot’ of paint to indicate how long the barrels would be matured; blue for 7 years, green for 10, yellow for 12, and red for 15. This tradition gave rise to the name Spot Whiskey.
