Sir Geoffrey Boycott KT., OBE / Scarborough Cricket Club President
Now a prolific columnist for the Daily Telegraph, Sir Geoffrey is one of Yorkshire & England’s all-time greats and still holds many records in cricket. He was inducted into the International Cricket Council’s Hall of Fame in 2009.
Sir Geoffrey has the highest 1st Class batting average of any of the top 100 run scorers in 1st Class Cricket worldwide: 48,426 runs at an average of 56.83, followed closely in second place by another Yorkshire & England great, Sir Len Hutton who scored 40,140 runs at an average of 55.51.
Geoff (Dusty) Miller OBE
Former England cricketer and first National Selector of the ECB Described by Australian test cricketer Ian Chappell as ‘the best After Dinner speaker in Cricket.’
Geoff played 34 Test matches and 25 One Day Internationals for the England cricket team between 1976 and 1984. Simon Hughes referred to Miller in 1990 as being “the only remaining player who unfailingly visited the opposing team’s dressing room after play to thank them for the game ... [and] the last man to field at slip with a whoopee cushion up his jumper”.
