El Ritmo’s annual Spooky Salsa Soirée returns for another night of Latin music, dancing, costumes, cocktails, and Halloween mischief at The University Club in Moline!
Whether you arrive as a vampire, villain, ghost, ghoul, witch, werewolf—or just your dangerously attractive self—there’s a place for you on this dance floor.
And if you’ve never danced Salsa before?
We’ll teach you before we haunt you. 😈

Costumes are HIGHLY encouraged—and this is not the night to play it safe.

🕖 7:00–8:00 PM — BEGINNER SALSA LESSON 💃
Never danced before? Perfect.
Our beginner-friendly Salsa lesson will get you moving, laughing, and ready for the night ahead.
No experience necessary. No partner necessary. Two left feet permitted.
🕗 8:00–11:00 PM — THE DANCE FLOOR COMES ALIVE 🔥
Three hours of:
💃 Salsa
❤️🔥 Bachata
🎺 Cumbia
🕺 Merengue
🔥 Reggaeton
…and whatever else awakens from the DJ booth.
Dance with friends. Dance with strangers. Dance with someone dressed as Beetlejuice.
Just. Keep. Dancing.

Darkness falls across the land,
The midnight hour is close at hand.
Creatures crawl in search of blood,
To terrorize y’all’s neighborhood.

👯 Do I need a partner?
Nope! El Ritmo is all about community and connection. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to dance with different people throughout the night.
Come alone. Come with friends. Come with your entire coven.
💃 Do I need dance experience?
Not even a little.
Our 7 PM lesson is designed specifically to get beginners comfortable before social dancing starts. Experienced dancers are always welcome too!
👗 What should I wear?
It’s Halloween. GO FOR IT.
Spooky. Glamorous. Ridiculous. Terrifying. Sexy. Clever. Completely unhinged.
Just make sure you can still dance in it.
And remember: there are prizes—and Halloween glory—at stake. 🎭
🍹 Will there be drinks?
Of course. We said spirits, didn’t we? 👻🥃
The University Club’s full bar will be open with cocktails, beer, wine, and Halloween concoctions throughout the evening. Cash and card accepted at the bar.
💸 How do I pay for admission?
$15 at the door via cash or Venmo.
Simple enough—even the undead can figure it out.
