The WVU School of Music will present its second annual “Halloween Spooktacular: A Collaborative Concert” in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre at the WVU Canady Creative Arts Center Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m.
In this musical event, bands, symphonies and orchestras from across the School of Music will come together to treat listeners to spooky tunes and Halloween favorites, including selections from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “K-Pop Demon Hunters,” as well as renditions of “Ghostbusters,” “Bigfoot Boogie,” “Thriller,” and more.
Ensembles include the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Choirs, Jazz Ensemble I, Funk & Soul Ensemble, Clarinet Choir, Flute Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and others. They’ll be set up throughout the theatre “prism”-style, with groups spread across the stage and into the theatre aisles. Each performance will be enhanced with special lighting and effects.
Admission to the concert is $10 for adults and $7 for kids. Tickets can be purchased online at go.wvu.edu/spooktacular, by phone at 304-293-SHOW or in person at the box office located in the main lobby of the WVU Canady Creative Arts Center, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
