As part of our fundraising, we’re organising a community sponsored walk around Colchester designed to be inclusive, supportive, and achievable for as many women as possible.

We are asking for £10 to join the walk, you can donate this even if you can't make the walk!
You can also ask others - family, friends, colleagues to also donate to help us reach our target!

Here's some more details:
🚶♀️ Our Sponsored Walk
Stage 1: A 3-mile walk at a steady, comfortable pace, starting at Colchester Castle.
We will then stop for a planned break. This allows women who may not feel able to complete a longer distance to still take part, be included, and experience the support of the group.
Stage 2: After the break, those who feel able will continue on for an additional 5 miles, completing a longer circular route around Colchester.
The full walk will finish back at Colchester Castle.
This approach reflects what WalkNTalk is all about — removing barriers, encouraging connection, and making sure no one feels left out.
Participants can choose the distance that suits them, whether that’s 3 miles or the full 8 miles, and every step taken helps support our community and the work we do.
💛 Why we’re fundraising for WalkNTalk Women CIC
WalkNTalk Women has grown so quickly, which is amazing…
but behind the scenes, there are real costs to keep everything running safely and properly.
While all of our walk leaders are volunteers, there are still essential expenses, including:
Insurance
Website and systems
Ongoing training for our walk leaders (like First Aid and future training)
Equipment (first aid kits, high-vis, resources)
Accountancy fees
GDPR/data protection registration and compliance
General admin and day-to-day running costs
As a CIC (Community Interest Company), any money raised goes straight back into the group—helping us keep walks accessible, safe, and sustainable, and allowing us to grow and support even more women.
This sponsored walk isn’t about profit.
It’s about making sure we can continue what we’ve started, and build on it in the right way.
