SPOILMAN

Formed in Tokyo and starting in 2019, SPOILMAN is a rare alternative/grunge band influenced by US grunge and post-hardcore, and unusually in recent years, they profess respect for The Jesus Lizard and have inherited its metamorphosis. The band's expressiveness is backed by a high level of musicianship, killer guitar riffs, rhythmic and beat resolution, muscle-shredding simplicity of note count, and a gritty sound and its sharpness. The speed of album production is astonishingly fast, with three albums so far, “BODY” (2020), “SOLID GREEN” (2021), and “HARMONY” (2022), released every year on Kerosene Records. The speed of his creation continues to accelerate, and in 2023, he finally broke through the meter and released two albums worth of music, “UNDERTOW” and “COMBER,” simultaneously from 3LA. In August of the same year, they began an aggressive nationwide tour that took them to Tohoku, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Kansai, and as their reputation in the live house scene grew, their production speed continued to run wild, and they even completed their third album in 2023, their sixth album in total, “BASTERD NERD PIG”, when they should not have done so. In 2024, the live performance was released as a 2-CD live album, which enhanced the band's reputation as a live band. The new songs performed at the live at Asukayama-Park are included in their latest album “OBLIVION TRACKS” to be released in 2025, and the album is already being called a masterpiece, as it combines pop and alternative rock essence more than ever.

An explosion of strong guitar riffs and rough band playing. No need for expensive equipment that is not suitable for their size, they play with their ideas and skills. SPOILMAN is clearly different from what is called “alternative rock” in Japan, but the meaning of alternative music is to present a different value system to the existing conventions. Have people forgotten what alternative really means? This album, “OBLIVION TRACKS”, which means “the track of oblivion”, will make you question the meaning of alternative again.
