Split the Ticket return to Newcastle for their biggest show of a very busy year. Following their debut festival appearance in the summer and a run of shows in the North of England this autumn, Split the Ticket are coming back to Newcastle for what will be a huge night of some of the best up and coming alternative indie rock the north has to offer. Split the Ticket have revolutionised their sound and their energy since their last appearance at The Grove back in August 2024. Dubbed in 2024 by NARC magazine as 'seamless, thought-provoking, and effortlessly danceable', the young band will be delivering a self-booked, self-promoted gig displaying their unique indie-rock sound inspired by post-punk, grunge, and shoegaze giants like The Smashing Pumpkins, Fontaines D.C., Been Stellar, Wunderhorse, and Slowdive.
They will be joined by two northern bands making their Newcastle debuts.
Hailing from Sheffield: Weave, a four-piece post punk band who instantly gained attention for their eccentric live performances and bold, gritty, yet melodic sound inspired by Joy Division, Swervedriver, and Aerial Love Feed.
Alongside them, making the trip up from Leeds, is the 'souped up dark indie-pop' band Free Party. Off the back of their recent EP 'SKIN', they have been up and down the country sharing their beautiful, emotional take on indie-rock music.
If all that wasn't enough, opening the night is one of the North East's most exciting artists, Charlie Floyd. After a jam-packed festival season, Charlie will be bringing his wonderfully energising indie pop repertoire to The Grove to open what will be one of the best value gigs in Newcastle.
This is absolutely not a gig to miss and will be the only chance this year to see many of these bands grace the stage in Newcastle.
