BOBBY DARIN was a versatile American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actor in film and television. He excelled in a range of music genres including Jazz, Pop, Rock 'n' Roll, Folk, Swing, and Country. Darin began his show business career as a songwriter for Connie Francis and shot to global fame in 1958 with his first million-seller, "Splish Splash." He passed away in 1973 at the age of 37 following a heart operation.
Darin was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999. The Recording Academy awarded him a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2010 Grammy Awards. It's often said that had he lived, he might have become more famous than Frank Sinatra due to his incredible talent.
In this special show, Vegas entertainer Ron Gartner honors Bobby Darin's legacy by singing the songs of the swingin'est guy who ever put on a tux. The performance spans Darin's rock 'n' roll days, his evenings at the Copa, and even ventures into Country, Folk, and Political Activism.
