SPLENDOR : PAINTINGS BY CYNCI CUTTER
"Splendor" is a lush, illumination focused on the secret life of plants. In a semiotic dance of form and color, these works carefully consider the fragility of life while evoking the humid, earthy scent that questions the very nature of permanence.
The still life paintings are a direct response to a simple gathering of ordinary materials. Cutter uses bold patterning and abstracted elements to organize and prioritize expressive interpretation over realism in her comments on the pleasures and transience of life.
Ever the naturalist, her enthusiasm for life in all its forms is revealed through the beauty of her work. Cynci Cutter is a seeker of truth, a lover of horses. and listens to the wisdom of flowers.
Cynci Cutter is a Southen California artist residing in Sierra Madre's upper canyon. Cutter holds an MFA, Painting, Maryland Institute, College of Art, Baltimore, Maryland, MAE, Herron School of Art, Indianapolis, Indiana, and a BS, Art Education, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. Cynci and her partner Jay own Cutter Nehf Racing Stable, LLC. and breed their thoroughbred horses in Midway Kentucky. Ever the naturalist, her love for nature and life is revealed in her splendid work. Cynci Cutter is an information seeker, a flower watcher and a horse lover.
