Steve Saville
Steve is an avocationalist maritime researcher contributing to the knowledge base of South Australia’s underwater cultural heritage.
A passionate scuba diver and videographer, his reach is across the most remote locations and sometimes hostile waters, returning with video footage of shipwreck discoveries and never-before seen marine habitats. Locations include from the West coast of South Australia to the South-East coast, Kangaroo Island, and as well, both Gulfs.
Some of Steve’s works have been presented at national and international forums. He has also raised informal and peer reviewed publications pertaining to maritime archaeology and history within South Australia.
Not wanting to stop short at new discoveries, Steve has also re-discovered many shipwrecks that were historically found and then have been lost in time, and as well, expanded on discoveries at shipwreck sites such as the Loch Vennachar, West coast of Kangaroo Island.
