About this Event

About This Intensive

How do you create work that matters while paying your bills? How do you charge for spiritual and creative work without selling out? How do you navigate the need to work within capitalism while also staying true to your values?

This intensive is for creatives and entrepreneurs wrestling with these questions. By the end of the day, you will have a clearer mission, a workable business model, and concrete next steps. You’ll also leave with greater confidence about pricing, marketing, and how to build something financially real without compromising your spiritual values.

Just as importantly, you’ll spend the day in a small group of like-minded builders navigating the same tensions between calling and livelihood. The intensive is designed to foster real connection, honest feedback, and meaningful networking, with the option to continue the conversation afterward through an ongoing peer coaching circle.

Is This For You?

This intensive is for people who are discerning, launching, or reinvigorating a venture idea rooted in their spiritual values. Whether your idea is still taking shape or already in motion, this day will help you clarify what you are building and develop a viable, sustainable model.

Participants should come with a specific venture idea they are ready to workshop, even if it is still early or evolving. This could be a new offering, side hustle, social enterprise, ministry, coaching practice, creative business, or nonprofit concept.

This is for you if you are:

  • In the early ideation or discernment phase and want to clarify a concrete direction
  • In the early stages of launching and need help shaping a viable model
  • Leading an existing venture that feels stalled or misaligned and needs reinvigoration
  • Ministry-trained and exploring alternatives to traditional church roles through entrepreneurial paths or seeking to innovate within a church setting
  • Building values-driven work and wrestling with how to make it financially sustainable

About the Instructors

Rev. Rich Tafel has been a certified executive coach for over two decades. He helped launch the nation’s first statewide social venture competition in 2014 and served as the Director of Raffa Social Capital Advisors, where he matched ventures with investors. He’ll share his “9 Questions” framework from his spiritual entrepreneur course. He’ll also give hot seat live coaching to you on your proposed venture.

The course is co-taught by Kelly Crouch and Sheri Smith. Kelly is a graduate of Union Theological Seminary and the London School of Economics. Kelly is in the process of creating a social venture now and can share case studies from the front lines of this work. Sheri is the author of Spiritual Entrepreneurship: Raw Reflections of a Female CEO and has over 20 years of experience in assessment technology and leadership development.
