Do you like ghost stories? Do you like cocktails? Spirits with the Spirits combines both for a fun, spooky experience. For as long as humans have visited historic places, they have been telling stories of ghosts and unexplained events. Spend an evening with historian Tony Shahan as he shares tales of ghosts and the unexplained from his 38 years working in museums. Listen to stories like The Sentry Still on Duty, The Silent Door, The Scream, and learn about the amazing ghost sheep. To accompany the storytelling, Tony will be serving themed cocktails crafted to entertain your palate and enhance your spooky experience. Ten ghost stories and five cocktails – what could go wrong?

During his 36-year career working in museums, Tony Shahan has explored the topics of mills, historic trades, and historic food and beverage. The latter has led him to pour over historic cookbooks and receipts, cook in historic hearths and bake ovens, and explore early beverages. Through working in historic breweries and distilleries including an 1806 brewery, a reconstructed German-style brewery and George Washington’s distillery, he has gained valuable insights into the various alcohols, flavors, and receipts used throughout American history. Tony enjoys sharing his knowledge through historic and history-inspired tastings, classes, and meals.
