🎶 Spirit of the Highlands Music Inspired by The Inverness Castle Experience
Spirit of the Highlands is a special one-night concert celebrating music inspired by the newly opened Inverness Castle Experience.
The concert brings together a whole host of Scotland’s brilliant musicians for an evening of new music, collaboration and celebration - rooted in place, people and story.
At the heart of the programme is the world premiere of River, a newly commissioned work by composer James Ross, acclaimed Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis and writer Colin MacDonald inspired by the incredible community stitchers who created the Tapestry of the Highlands and Islands, now on display at the Castle. They will be joined on the night by ensemble Thirteen North to perform River.
The night also features a lively Castle Cèilidh, led by an exceptional ensemble of musicians including Anna Massie, Gary Innes, Bruce MacGregor, Lauren MacColl, Hamish Napier and Su-a Lee and special guests.
This concert is part of a wider cultural moment for Inverness — celebrating heritage as living, contemporary culture through live performance.
