The Livermore Public Library will celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, through a series of free library programs. The third annual Spirit of Diwali festival will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Civic Center Library, 1188 S. Livermore Ave. This afternoon of dazzling dance performances will feature a classical Indian dance performance by Shruti, Stories that Dance with Laya Arts Collective, and a Bollywood dance performance by Sumi.
The library will also offer a registration-only Pichwai Art Class on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the Civic Center Library for teens (age 13+) and adults. Pichwai painting is a folk-art tradition from Nathdwara, Rajasthan, India. Patrons may call 925-373-5505 to register.
Throughout the first week of November, anyone may pick up a diya lamp and lotus flower take-and-make craft kit at all three library locations, while supplies last.
For further information, please call 925-373-5505.
