The Spira Mîței Trail Run initiative was founded by Ghenadie Cibotenco, an amateur trail runner and nature enthusiast.From an early age, the initiator was introduced to long-distance running by his father, who encouraged endurance, discipline and respect for nature. These values later became the foundation of the project.
The running route used for the event was personally discovered, explored and developed by the initiator along the banks of the Dniester River, forming a circular trail course that combines natural landscape, accessibility and safety. The route was tested through personal training runs before being opened to the local community.
Motivated by a desire to share the benefits of outdoor physical activity and to make running accessible to all, the initiator independently organised the first editions of the event, covering all organisational aspects, including route preparation, coordination of participants and volunteers, and on-site logistics.
This personal commitment and hands-on experience form the core identity of Spira Mîței Trail Run as a community-driven, non-commercial and sustainable grassroots sport initiative.
