This 3-day workshop focuses on building critical skills and addressing real-life deployment challenges. Participants will learn to identify common deployment failures, strengthen their K9's foundation, and adapt to high-stress scenarios to ensure success in the field.

The goal of Spike’s School is to educate and improve communication between the handler and their K9 through top-notch training from exceptional and recognized trainers across the country. Quality training results in increased effectiveness in the workplace and safer handling, protecting everyone involved. Thanks to our generous donors, we are able to sponsor approved applicants to help relieve the burden of training costs.
We will be teaming up with instructor Paul Ludwig to provide the best education possible. Paul brings a fresh, “Drop the Ego” approach to training, emphasizing exposure, behavior shaping, and critical thinking under chaos. His methods aim to create a 3-second advantage for the handler—a potentially life-saving edge in the field.

Prerequisites:
1. Handler and K9 must be an active and certified member of a departments K9 unit.
2. Dog must be current on core vaccinations per AAHA Core Vaccines: Rabies, and Combination vaccine (Distemper, Adenovirus-2, Parvovirus, +/- Parainfluenza).
3. PLEASE NOTE **Students will be expected to participate in intense and rigorous training with K9's. Please come ready to train**
**If a K9 attending the course has received a ballistic vest from Spike's K9 Fund's donors, the K9 must wear the vest for the duration of the course. If the K9 team does not bring the vest with them, the team will be responsible for training fees associated with the course.**
