Spices like pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon are everyday commodities today - but they were once so valuable, they moved the world. Through centuries of maritime trade, they sailed into SIngapore's ports, shaping the flavors and food culture we call our own.
In this 45-min hands-on plant-based gelato workshop, participants will create a refreshing pineapple oat milk gelato, infused with spices that once travelled through Singapore’s bustling ports. From nutmeg to cinnamon, discover how trade and migration shaped the flavours we enjoy today.
Using a simple salt-and-ice churning method, you’ll experience a tactile, old-school way of making frozen desserts - no machines needed.
Guided by Oat & About - Singapore’s first oatmilk gelato brand - this session blends storytelling with sensory exploration, connecting heritage with modern, plant-based creativity.
