SPF Work/Play - April 12th, 2026

Come get your hands dirty, learn some permaculture skills, eat some tasty foodz and revel in the soil!

"SPF Work / Play Weekends" are educational volunteer days that happen (aspirationally) a few Saturdays a month. We host between 12-20 volunteer punks per events!

This all happens here at Solar Punk Farms. Volunteers are responsible for finding their own way to the farm, but if you need help, we can try to see if car sharing with other volunteers is possible!

TODAY: A very special Work/Play! We are implementing the "Janet Garden" which is a natives and polinator garden designed by permaculture enthusiast (and fellow punk) Janet Richardson. Last year, she volunteered her brain to rethink what was once our "citrus guild" but is now our over grown bermuda grass triangle (because our citrus died from unexpected frost). So.....we will be working together to make her new garden plan a reality including sheet invasive plant removal, sheet mulching, planting, stonework and more! All in one big push of a day!

What to bring:

Layers, sunscreen, and a water bottle.

Garden gloves if you have them (we will provide if not)

An appetite for lunch. We make our famous beet sandwiches for lunch (vegetarian), vegan and/or gluten-free options can be made available, please let us know beforehand.
