Speed-Friending Cocktail Hour

Speed-Friending is a fun, low-pressure event designed to help women make real, lasting friendships. You’ll rotate through short one-on-one conversations using light prompts, then enjoy open mingling time with everyone you’ve met.

Anyone looking to meet new friends, build community, or connect with women in a similar stage of life. No cliques, no established groups, just people showing up with the same intention: to make genuine connections.

Making friends as an adult can be hard. Many suggestions involve joining a hobby, class, or group where people already know each other, or finding the time to commit to something new.

Speed-Friending offers an easier, more intentional alternative. You get structured conversations, shared prompts, and a room full of people who also want to meet someone new. It’s friendship without the awkwardness.

When you check in, you’ll receive:

• A nametag
• A Connection Scorecard to make notes after each conversation, a list of prompts, and the guidelines for the night
• A ticket for your first drink (on us!)

Then you can grab a cocktail and get settled before rounds begin.

• Conversations are 5-6 minutes each
• After each chat, you’ll privately mark your scorecard with one question in mind:
  “Would I grab a cocktail with her?” → Yes / Maybe / Not My Match
• There’s no pressure; just jot down your honest, friendly impressions

After the rounds, you’ll have open time to mingle and continue any conversations you enjoyed.

We collects all scorecards and looks for mutual matches, and group matches! Within a day or two, you’ll receive an email with your matches so you can reconnect on your own.

You’ll also get an invite to the next Speed-Friending night and hear about any upcoming events you might love.

• 6:30–6:45 PM: Check-in & first drink (Important to note: being on time is really important :) )
• 6:45–8:45 PM: Speed-friending rounds
• 8:45-9:00: Open mingling!

Pins & Needles is the 70's-themed retro bar in the basement of Mahall's in Lakewood. When you enter Mahall's doors, go straight past the entry on the right into the bar, and down the set of stairs.

Mahall's is a music venue, so there may be a show during our event (but upstairs, and the only way we usually know is the parking situation!). If there is a show, there is typically ample parking across the street at the park!

Just yourself, and maybe a phone to exchange socials with matches you meet during open mingling. Everything else (scorecards, prompts, pens, drink ticket) is provided.
