Special Wilmington Wine Circle—A NIGHT OF WINE INVESTIGATION
Can you crack the case?
Do you love wine? Do you love detective stories? Well, then you must join the Wilmington Wine Circle for an evening of mystery bottles, clever clues, delicious pairings, and friendly competition. We will put our noses and palates to the test!
Each participant will bring:
🍷 A mystery wine
🧀 A paired snack
🔍 Your best detective instincts
Together we'll taste, investigate, and uncover the clues hidden in each glass. Is it Old World or New World? What grape is it? Which wine will earn the coveted Golden Corkscrew Award? And who will be named our Palate Detective?
How will this work? Up to 8 participants will bring a bottle of wine—their favorite still white or red wine—with a paired snack. Upon arrival, their wine will be covered in a wine sleeve with a number. Then the mystery wines will be served by number. Everyone will taste and make some guesses. Once everyone’s guesses are submitted, the wine will be revealed, and the pairing will be served. Two awards will be given: the Palate Detective Award—who guesses the most mystery wines correctly—and the Golden Corkscrew Award—who brought the evening’s most favorite mystery wine.
