About Syed Saddiq
Syed Saddiq rose to prominence in 2016 as a founding member of Change Led by the Young Generation (Challenger). He later became the leader of ARMADA, the youth wing of BERSATU, and was elected as Member of Parliament for Muar in 2018. At 25, he became Malaysia’s youngest-ever federal minister, serving as Minister of Youth and Sports.
As Minister, Saddiq championed lowering Malaysia’s voting age from 21 to 18, a reform passed in 2019. In 2020, he founded the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) and served as its first president. An accomplished debater, Saddiq has won the United Asian Debating Championship and was named Asia’s Best Speaker three times.
