About this Event
Halvorsen boats hold a special place in the hearts of many Australians. Halvorsens were renowned for their innovative design, quality vessels, and distinctive styling. The family originated in Norway where seafaring and life by the sea was in their blood. The descendants of Norwegian born Lars Halvorsen have followed the Halvorsen tradition building many types of vessels including yachts, pleasure cruisers, naval vessels, commercial and police vessels. Their vessels combine practicality, beauty and craftsmanship with fidelity to the demands of the sea. Lars’s sons Magnus, Carl and Tryvge became accomplished yachtsmen winning many prestigious yacht racing events in yachts designed and built by the firm.
