Meet Bill “Spaceman” Lee and hear his legendary stories!Former MLB pitcher Bill “Spaceman” Lee, played for the Boston Red Sox and Montreal Expos. He joined the league in 1969 and spent 14 seasons in the majors, winning 119 games and earning an All-Star nod in 1973. He was instrumental in the 1975 World Series run for the Red Sox, and was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2008.
However, it’s not the stats that make Bill Lee a memorable figure, but his quirky, laid-back personality. He is best known for his colorful stories and love of the game, long after he retired his major league glove.
Most recently, Bill played with the Savanah Bananas, making an appearance at Fenway in 2024 and 2025 – at age of 78!
