In this presentation, guest speaker Ken Raniere explores methods of investigating and compiling family history by creating a simple family photo album with captions, gives points on researching information from a family questionnaire and use of online sources; and finally, writing a family history based on several approaches discussed in depth. The presentation concludes with ways of retaining the written family history as a keepsake with printed examples.
Meet our Guest Speaker – Ken Raniere...
A former art teacher and graphics editor of The Morning Call newspaper, Ken Raniere has been an advocate of historic preservation and has served on the boards of local historic organizations. Ken has been a design editor of Southern Exposure, newsletter of South Bethlehem Historical Society and design editor of the Look Back Again newsletter of Lower Saucon Township Historical Society.
He is the author of A living Legacy: The Architecture of A.W. Leh and co-author of the Arcadia Book, South Bethlehem with journalist and local historian, Karen M. Samuels. Ken has given presentations pertaining to local history and recently created family histories in keepsake booklets.
Ken resides in Coopersburg, PA.
Complimentary light refreshments will be served during the evening. The presentation will be held in the lower level of the historic Heller-Wagner Grist Mill in the Hellertown Historical Society's Tavern; use the entrance on west side of building from the parking area.
This event is free to attend and open to the public.
Doors open at 6PM, presentation begins at 6:30PM. Seating is limited to first come, first served. Free off-street parking is available on the west side of the Heller-Wagner Grist Mill building and across Walnut Street near the Saucon Rail Trail access.
