Indiana parents, youth, survivors, advocates, faith leaders, and community organizations are coming together to make our children’s education, safety, and well-being a top legislative and budgetary priority.
The Indiana Child Safety Call-In Day is an opportunity to turn our experiences and concerns into collective action. Together, we will contact Indiana lawmakers and call for meaningful reforms grounded in prevention, protection, accountability, and transparency.
OUR FOCUS
• Strengthening protections against bullying and improving documentation and reporting
• Establishing meaningful oversight and checks and balances within Indiana’s child-serving systems
• Addressing gaps between schools, DCS, and other systems entrusted with children’s care
• Advancing accountability and protections for children and families navigating juvenile and family courts, including GAL/CASA programs
• Centering the voices of children and families most impacted in legislative reform
WHAT TO EXPECT
📞 Guidance on contacting legislators and clearly communicating your requests
📝 Support for sharing your lived experience and connecting it to needed reform
🤝 Community connection with parents, survivors, and advocates
🍽️ Lunch for registered in-person participants
Whether you join us in person or virtually, you can help bring our collective concerns to Indiana lawmakers. You do not need advocacy experience—just a commitment to safer systems and stronger protections for our children.
