Some 35 years ago our friend and Spartan legend Scott Moormeier needed to go Christmas shopping. So he called some of his reindeer friends and said, “Hey, I’ve got a great idea! Let’s all go Christmas shopping.” His friends were taken aback. “What? Shopping? We hate shopping. ” Scott replied “That’s the best part. There will be no shopping! No stores. No crowds. We’re really just going to have some Christmas cheer and talk and laugh and get jolly!”.
His friends were down with that!! Brilliant. See you there!
And so it began. A multi-decade siege on Christmas cheer. Without the crowds, tight parking, thorny decisions on what to buy for whom. None of that! This great idea lives on. Grown throughout the years into an all-Class Spartan extravaganza.
So here we are. 2027.
LET’S FREAKIN’ GO!!!!!!!
The Spartan Christmas Party is happening. December 5. Channel Marker. 5:30 pm. All your favorite people. Live jams by Alice Kennelly. The reindeer costume contest is once again full on. The winners last year had to be Abbie Smith and Sandy Harris. Great job. They went above and beyond. Antlers, hooves, the whole shebang. So genuine I was looking for the sled in the parking lot! Maybe this year we can get Craig Forehand to dress up as Santa ?
