Join writer Tracey Iceton as she describes her life with Sparky - a captive bred Barn Owl who came into Tracey’s life unexpectedly, but has made a massive impact.

Sparky is a lawfully captive Barn Owl who was bred in captivity from captive bred parents. Sparky arrived at the animal centre Tracey was volunteering at in 2022. Worried about Sparky’s wellbeing Tracey adopted Sparky knowing she had access to specialist help from bird of prey experts. Sparky’s journey with Tracey is documented in Tracey’s Book Sparky - My Barn Owl Story - by writing the book she hopes to help people learn a little more about owls and also to help people regard animals on their own terms rather than ours.

This event is open to all ages but children must be accompanied by an adult.

The event will be followed by an audience Q&A and book signing.
