Communicating with a workforce that is ~31% Spanish speaking can be difficult and creates barriers in training, safety practices and advancement for these employees. Students will learn reading, writing, listening and speaking skills to communicate more effectively with team members in Spanish in areas of safety, work instruction, tools, and basic conversation.
There will also be opportunities to discuss cross-cultural questions related to effective teamwork and communication.
This introductory-level course is intended for those who speak little to no Spanish, and is open to anyone looking to engage more effectively with their Spanish speaking team members.
In this introductory course, graduates will be able to converse in a variety of construction applicable topics including:
• Greetings & Introductions
• Numbers
• Telling Time & Schedules
• Identifying Construction Jobs and Tools
• Talking about Safety
• Giving Instructions
Registration includes all dates and attendees MUST be able to participate in all classes (dates below) in order to gain the fluency and necessary language skills from this course. All materials included.

Dates: Every Tuesday and Thursday over the course of ten weeks, beginning on January 20, 2026
Time: 2 PM to 4 PM
