Cactus Music is excited to host longtime local faves Spain Colored Orange this 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟱𝘁𝗵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗮𝘁 𝟭 𝗣𝗠, with a live set to celebrate their return to the music scene after an extended hiatus, with the release of a new six-song EP, 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘎𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘴. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲‼️
𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘎𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘴 is a collection of meticulously composed songs that are melodically uplifting while telling a story of grief and loss lyrically. The new six-song EP is sure to tickle the sensibilities of Elliott Smith, Wilco, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Sparklehorse fans.
Gilbert Alfaro says the EP is about “When your world is turned upside down, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it. And you lose your health insurance in the process and can no longer see your therapist …
“Writing how you feel on paper and making songs out of it was gratifying,” he adds. “All the vulnerability it took to write 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘐𝘯 𝘎𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘴 was closure for me. And I’m happy it’s out there, but I believe people can relate to a lot of it. Will (Evans) did a great job during the recording process and had a huge hand in bringing the songs to life.”
Spain Colored Orange is an indie rock band from Texas, known for blending a wide range of styles including indie rock, psychedelic rock, jazz, ‘70s-era sounds, and experimental arrangements into a distinctive, energetic sound.
