Space on Tap
About this Event
Space isn't just for scientists. It's for the dreamers, the skeptics, the trivia lovers, and anyone who's ever looked up at the night sky and wondered, "What's out there?"
What if your favorite night out came with astronauts, cosmic mysteries, and just enough science to blow your mind?
Join Central Florida Public Media for Space on Tap, a live experience hosted by Are We There Yet?'s Brendan Byrne that brings the wonder of space exploration into a relaxed, social setting. Through fascinating conversations with experts at the forefront of discovery, unexpected moments of friendly competition, and opportunities to satisfy your own curiosity, you'll experience the excitement of exploration in a whole new way.
This month's featured guest is University of Florida astrobiologist Dr. Amy Williams, whose work with NASA's Curiosity and Perseverance rovers is helping scientists search for signs of ancient life on Mars. What's it like to have coworkers on another planet? Dr. Williams will share how her team is getting closer than ever to understanding whether life may have once existed on the red planet, what questions still remain about life in our universe, and some of the remarkable similarities between Earth and Mars.
Then, get ready for the debut of Trivia Vox Pop!, a space trivia showdown where the audience helps shape the game itself. Are We There Yet? host Brendan Byrne will face off against The Orlando Shine's Brendan O'Connor in a battle of space knowledge and pop culture. With the audience weighing in to help determine the answers, the only question is: which Brendan will reign supreme as the ultimate space trivia champion?
As an added bonus, portions of the evening will be recorded for future episodes of Are We There Yet?, giving you a chance to be part of the conversation beyond the walls of the venue.
Whether you're a lifelong space enthusiast or simply space-curious, this is your invitation to pull up a chair and join the conversation.
Your ticket includes:
- Live conversations with space experts and special guests
- Interactive games and opportunities to test your space knowledge
- A chance to experience a recording of Are We There Yet?
