Sexual Violence: Pathways to Healing Without Re-traumatizationAt a time when personal, social, and geopolitical crises are intensifying, the need for spaces where experiences of loss, disruption, and vulnerability are not immediately confined to diagnostic categories or narrow frameworks of care—but are first recognized as human and collective experiences—has become increasingly urgent.
The non-governmental organizations European Net Against Violence, Os AIDO, and Ilysia Foundation are co-organizing an event titled:
“Sexual Violence: Pathways to Healing Without Re-traumatization” and “Advancing Trauma-Informed Care”, aiming to highlight approaches to care that promote recovery without reproducing traumatic experiences.
As part of the event, the following contributors will participate:
Kiki Petroulaki, psychologist and Chair of the Board, with extensive experience in domestic violence, gender-based violence, and child protection.
Dimitra Petanidou, psychologist, and Niovi Michalopoulou, clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, who are active in providing comprehensive sexuality education through digital platforms.
Theodora Kotsi Felici, artist, who through her film “De Cirkel” explores both the process of recovery after sexual violence and the risks of re-traumatization caused by inappropriate care practices.
The event aims to foster dialogue around trauma-informed care and to promote practices that respect and center the experiences of survivors.
