Sow & Grow | Native Plant Care at the Bay

Sow & Grow is put on by the Newport Bay Conservancy, a non-profit organization dedicated to perserving and protecting the Upper Newport Bay through education, restoration, research, and advocacy.

At Sow & Grow, we invite volunteers to help our staff with the care and maintenance native plants in our nursery. These plants are destined for restoration projects through the Bay and with volunteer help, we can work together to support a healthy bay!

Volunteers will take part in hands-on, seasonal nursery activities, including:

• Seed collection and sowing
• Transplanting seedlings and pruning
• Processing cuttings
• Composting and pot washing
• Weeding and maintaining the nursery space

No experience is necessary! All training and tools will be provided.

This is a hands-on opportunity for people 13-years and older to learn from, work with, and assist our restoration team!
