The Southwest Washington Wind Symphony’s 20th anniversary season continues with Principal Conductor Patrick Murphy from the University of Portland sharing the podium with two guest conductors and showcasing works by local composers. Danielle Armstrong, band director at Battle Ground High School, will conduct a composition by award-winning Oregon-based composer Isabella Morrill. David K. Parker, a retired university band director and accomplished professional musician/composer, will conduct an original composition commemorating the rich history of his hometown of Washougal. Additional musical selections will include Aubrey Fanfare by Jack Stamp, Emmy Award winner Scenes from “The Louvre” by Norman Dello Joio, and more.
At the concert SWWS volunteers will host a fundraising raffle of an original fine art painting by Keith Lindberg, a contemporary American artist whose colorful and energetic paintings have garnered an international following.
