Join us Tuesday, May 26 from 4–6 PM on the front lawn of the Southfield Municipal Campus for Southfield Takes Flight, a free community event featuring hands-on activities, interactive experiences, and fun for all ages.
Families can:
🛩 Create and decorate paper airplanes
🏁 Compete in paper airplane launch activities and contests
🚁 Watch live drone demonstrations from the Southfield Police Department
🎯 Enjoy bounce houses and family activities
🍩 Grab free fresh mini donuts and dirty sodas from Sip ‘N Sweets
🎟 Enter for a chance to win an intro-level drone starter kit
The event also celebrates Southfield’s newest public art installation — a large-scale paper airplane sculpture designed to inspire movement, creativity, and imagination throughout the community.
Whether you’re testing your paper airplane skills, learning about drone technology, or simply enjoying time outdoors with family and friends, Southfield Takes Flight is designed to bring the community together through creativity, curiosity, and fun.
