Join us at Zouk Tea Bar & Grill Manchester for a flavour-packed Southern Indian Cooking Class and discover how to prepare authentic dishes from Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

This hands-on class celebrates the incredible diversity of South Indian cuisine — from the dry heat of Chicken Chettinad to the rich creaminess of Keralan Lamb Curry, plus two irresistible starters that showcase the bold, aromatic spices of the region.

What You’ll Learn

Southern India is home to five states, each with its own unique flavours, spices and techniques. In this class, we’ll guide you through four of our favourite dishes that highlight the region’s variety and balance of spice:

Starters

Spiced Prawns – Juicy king prawns sautéed with mustard seeds, green chillies and South Indian spices.

Chicken Pepper Fry – Tender chicken pieces pan-fried with black pepper, onions and tomatoes — a quick, flavourful favourite.

Main Courses

Chicken Chettinad – A bold and spicy curry from Tamil Nadu, slowly cooked for depth and flavour. Learn to adjust the heat to your taste and use the masala as a base for other dishes.

Keralan Lamb Curry – A rich coconut-based curry with coriander, Kashmiri chilli and black pepper. Cooked on the bone for authentic flavour — and equally delicious when made with chicken.

Sides: Pilau Rice & Naan Bread

(Our chefs will demonstrate naan-making in the tandoor, and you’ll receive easy-to-follow instructions for home cooking.)
