Southern Dutchess Concert Band at Geering Park, Fishkill

The Southern Dutchess Concert Band will be giving an outdoor concert this evening at Mauer-Geering Park, sponsored by the Town of Fishkill Recreation department, starting at 6:00 p.m. The park is located in Fishkill on Geering Way which is on the north side Route 52 immediately to the east of the intersection with Interstate 84 (click on the map). Bring your lawn chairs and blankets: Admission is Free. If it should rain, this concert will be held the next day, on Thursday, September 3rd, at the same time (this facebook event will be updated in that case).
The 75-piece Southern Dutchess Concert Band will be performing a selection of show tunes, popular standards, marches, light classical and wind ensemble music. Highlights include: a tribute to Sammy Davis, Jr. for the 100th Anniversary of his birth, "Dance at the Gym: Mambo" from "West Side Story", and Leroy Anderson's "Bugler's Holiday". The Southern Dutchess Concert Band consists of woodwind, brass and percussion musicians from southern Dutchess County and surrounding areas.
This is a reschedule of a Wednesday, July 15th concert when the smoke conditions didn't allow for outdoor concerts that week.
