The Southern Dutchess Concert Band will be giving an outdoor concert this evening at Mauer-Geering Park, sponsored by the Town of Fishkill Recreation department. Admission is Free, so bring your lawn chairs and blankets. If it should rain, this concert will be held the next day, on Thursday, July 16th.The 75-piece Southern Dutchess Concert Band will be performing a selection of show tunes, popular standards, marches, light classical and wind ensemble music. Highlights will include: a tribute to Sammy Davis, Jr. for the 100th Anniversary of his birth, "Dance at the Gym: Mambo" from "West Side Story", and Leroy Anderson's "Bugler's Holiday". The Southern Dutchess Concert Band consists of woodwind, brass and percussion musicians from southern Dutchess County and surrounding areas.
Mauer-Geering park is located in Fishkill on Geering Way, which is on the north side Route 52 immediately to the east of the intersection with Interstate 84 (click on the map)
