*SAMARITANS* focuses on the US-Mexico border. This film is the third installment of a trilogy, following the award-winning documentary short films *Shura* (Oscar-qualified) and *They Call Me the Cross Man*.
We are thrilled about the anticipated release of *Samaritans* in 2026. We are truly honored to have reached this milestone with my outstanding production team: Kayvon Derak Shanian @kevinderek , Pepe Serna @pepefied11 , and Reyna Grande. This project would not have been possible without the incredible leadership of Pastor and Dr. Randy J. Mayer, along with the amazing volunteers in the Southern Arizona borderlands.
*Samaritans* examines a seldom-explored aspect of extreme volunteering and migration, specifically focusing on Nogales and Sasabe, as well as a twenty-three-mile stretch of one of the deadliest land crossings in the world: the US-Mexico border in Southern Arizona.
In the shadow of remarkable human struggle, *Samaritans* weaves a poignant narrative of hope and humanity along the US-Mexico border in Southern Arizona. The film highlights the importance of extreme volunteering and the compassion shown by those providing life-saving aid to migrants facing harsh realities and often deadly challenges in the Sonoran Desert.
