Southeast Minnesota Makerspace Kickoff!

Have an idea for a new product or device in your head or on a cocktail napkin, and don't know what to do with it? Need to move your artist workshop out of your house or garage? Come to the Southeast Minnesota Makerspace (SEMM) and join a collaborative and creative community!

A Makerspace is a place where people come together to collaborate, teach, create, and design new products, pieces, and devices. The benefit of a Makerspace is that it has the necessary tools and equipment for creating goods in a single location, instead of creators having to buy the equipment on their own, which is often prohibitively expensive. These include laser cutters, 3D printers, kilns, and metal and woodworking equipment. The equipment, along with the artists, crafters, and tradespeople who participate in the program, will be available to assist anyone who wants to learn a new skill, has a new product idea that may need some assistance, or just wants to share their skills.

Come to this Kickoff event to learn more, meet Nancy Ness, Director of the Southeast Minnesota Makerspace, and Sean Williams, Executive Director of the Owatonna Area Business Development Center, and network with other creators!

The program is part of the larger Owatonna Area Ecosystem Accelerator and Makerspace project of the Owatonna Area Business Development Center (OABDC), funded in part by a Small Business Assistance Partnership grant from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED).
