Southampton Carers Afternoon Tea - Wednesday 10 June 2026

As part of our Carers Week celebrations, Southampton City Council is delighted to invite you to an afternoon tea for unpaid carers on Wednesday 10 June 2026.

The event is open to anyone who helps to look after a friend or family member living in Southampton who needs extra help because of their age, disability, illness, mental health or addiction. It will be an opportunity to meet and chat with other carers over tea and cake and to recognise the valuable contribution that carers make to our communities.

During the event, we will be launching our new Carers Charter, which sets out how we will value, support and work with carers, alongside our draft Carers Action Plan outlining how we will improve Council services and support for unpaid carers. There will be an opportunity to review these and to share your feedback to help shape our future offer for carers.

The event will start at 2.30pm with a welcome from Southampton City Council. There will be time to chat with other carers over tea and cake and the event will finish around 4.30pm.

This is an alternative to the Carers lunch that is taking place earlier in the day so please only book onto one event.
